Terms and Conditions

LEGAL STUFF

  • Pupils must have valid driving licence and meet the legal eyesight requirements when driving, by use of glasses or contact lenses if necessary.  Either may subject to checks at any time.

  • Pupils must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or medication which could compromise their ability to operate machinery.  Lessons will end early, if this is believed to be the case.

  • The Law states that the driver is liable for any fines or traffic offences. regardless of learner status.  The Instructor will do all possible to prevent any contraventions, but the pupil is ultimately responsible and liable.

LESSONS

  • Lesson fees are to be transferred no later than the evening prior to a booked appointment.

  • There is a 48 hours notice requirement for the cancellation of any booking.  Forgetting, or not turning up to an arranged booking, will result in the booking being charged in full.  The Instructor will wait 15 minutes before the lesson is deemed to be a no-show.

  • If the Instructor is late for an appointment, then the lost lesson time will be arranged for an alternative mutual time.  If the Instructor misses a test appointment, then they are liable for the pupil’s lost test fee to the DVSA.

  • Driving tests will take priority over lessons, so the instructor reserves the right to adjust lessons to accommodate test bookings for pupils.

TESTS

  • The Instructor reserves the right to deny use of the training vehicle if they believe the pupil to be below test standard.

  •   The examiner is only acting as an observer on a test, not as a supervisor, and so the candidate accepts responsibility for any damage caused to the vehicle or any third party during the test.

  • Tests are expensive and have lengthy waiting times, and the Instructor and vehicle can only be in one place at a time, therefore tests must be booked for mutually convenient times using the Instructor’s ADI number.  To avoid disappointment, please speak with your Instructor prior to booking a test.

  • Pupils must remember to bring their license and theory certificate for their test.

  • If the DVSA contact the pupil direct about a change to their test, then the pupil must inform the Instructor of this.  The DVSA have their own guidelines which the pupil should observe when booking their test.

INSTRUCTOR GUARANTEE

  • To be fully licensed, qualified and insured to give driving tuition.  To be professional, courteous and dedicated to your learning.

  • Lessons may be sat in on by another Instructor or by a DVSA Examiner.  This has no bearing on the pupil, and is purely a legal requirement for observing the Instructor.

  • To provide a legal and roadworthy vehicle for training purposes.

  • Lessons may be done in the pupil’s own car providing necessary documents are provided.  However the pupil may need to provide a secondary rear view mirror and L plates.  The Instructor has limited control abilities in a private car, and so the learner accepts the potentially higher risk involved.
